Hey, I do a lot of restaurant type gigs (bar-mitzvah's etc) and when I do ambitious card routine I use two cards. As far as I know I'm the only magi who does this. Who else out there has thought about this besides me? (Handling is a little more complicated than w/ one card, but easily adapted)
-Jordini P.S. This came about at school when I spread the cards for the ambitious card and two people reached in at once. Instead of demanding that one card be returned, I thought real REAL fast, and came up w/ a handling. |

Care to share a little more about your routine? Are you talking about both cards rising together, one after the other, or one to the top, the other to the bottom? Sounds like the idea could provide some interesting possibilities.

Yeah, Doing AC with two cards is well documented for a long time in print, by many magical authors...
The first one off the top of my head is Juan Tamariz's Doubly Ambitious... but it's other places too. Sorry |

I just show both cards at the same time, except whatever the trick calls for gets doubled. (E.G. Buckle two cards on bottom w/ pinkie, now buckle four cards). I actually don't buckle like Ammar does, I just riffle real quick and small like. Both cards usually rise one right after the other, then I bend both which is always a killer.

Interesting concept. I have a routine where three signed selections are used throughout the time. Perhaps I will try and come up with a triple ambition.
How many of you think it should be left to one card. I can actually see where this would be best because there isn't any distraction from the selections. Ronald

Paul Cummins (I'm pretty sure some of you guys will know the name, he's had routines published in lots of books, some by Jim Swain, Rocherbaumer, and Chad Long) who lives here in Jacksonville does an ambitious with a color change at the begining, and the card keeps changing back and forth from one face to the other. He also is working on a full ambitous with four aces. Just thought you guys would be interested on this thread. J.
David Blaine is on TV. I'm here doing a trick for you. Now shut up and watch.

Combining Two card transposition as a kicker A trick From Paul Green. I have been doing the Double ambission for a few years for My regular walk around. I am sure there are a lot of guys out there who do it.The premise I added to it is that I find the wrong persons cards, But they think I am screwing it up and they are trying to tell me but I wont listen I keep cutting them off. I do the last bit as proud as I can be and they say dude that's not my card and the other person says , yeah this isn't mine either. I smile and say hmmm that wasnt very nice let me go through a whole trick and let me look like a jack &%* ,, Are you sure those aren't your cards , just take one more look.
BOOYAH they love it. In my personal opinion Ambitious is a weak trick, and selfish on behalf of the magician performing it, with absolutely no payoff. Thank you for reading my post |
