I've been talking with many of the entertainers I've been working with and others that I hear from through the forums and many are having a great holiday season/fourth quarter and a very good year overall for 2016. How has yours been?
The fourth quarter is usually strong for many entertainers who perform holiday and company events, but even touring shows and attractions seem to be up this season as well as the year overall. Perhaps still not as consistent as many would like but still good overall. Just curious as to how everyone's year and season have shaped up? Also any early indicators on 2017 based on your current schedule? Many seem to be quite concerned that after what seems a decent holiday season, 2017 is weak so far at this point. Of course it depends on many varying factors such as the performance markets you specialize in and other elements, but what is your outlook so far on 2017? |

This past year was about the same, volume wise, as the previous year. The month of December is already stronger than previous years and I am still taking bookings for December too. I have a few bookings in 2017 already, but January is still looking slow so far. Overall, I expect 2017 to be my best year ever, but only due to a new marketing plan which includes a dramatic increase in direct cold call solicitation and face to face contact and proposals. I just started this plan and the results are very encouraging. Prior to this my business relied only on my S.E.O., referrals, reprise, and windfall. The growth I am looking for will occur only from direct face to face contact with prospects.

This year has broken all records for my business. Performing much less, but making much more. December is the strongest it's ever been, and 2017 is shaping up rather nicely. As long as the economy holds up, next year should be even better than this year.

Didn't get as many as I was aiming for during the fall which is odd because the months between late August and early November have typically been my busiest time of the year. While I didn't get booked much this fall - through the spring and summer I got more than I have seen before.
I've learned a few things this past year and I'm starting 2017 earlier than I started 2016. Which reminds me I better send out some emails to a few VIPs before I miss the boat.

Better than I could ask for.
I don't do magic professionally, in my off time. These past few bookings, including the event tonight, have been beyond my wildest dreams in respects to monetary gain for close-up magic. |

I had an average year. But I learned more this year about business then I ever have. . I hope to put all my training in place for 2017 and have a better year. I don't do magic full time but I want to have a successful business. Today is a Saturday in December and I didn't work. That's not good.

Too busy to do on my own. Time to hire employees.
