I'm looking to add some background smoke or fog (I'm not sure which yet) into my staging. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on small portable smoke or fog machines which are available in the UK? Specifically thoughts on how cheap or easy to get refills, how reliable the machine, and the quality of the smoke or fog coverage. I'm probably wanting to look at the cheaper end of the market but obviously want a machine that's going to be worth having.

You may have problems using smoke it the UK. I am a mobile DJ. I gave up using smoke many years ago, most venues don't allow its use. It can set off the fire alarms. I was DJing at wedding many years ago. There was a DJ working in another room using smoke it set off the fire alarm. We all had to evacuate until the fire brigade arrived.
I use three suppliers for my DJ kit. These companies should be able to recommend which systems to buy: http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/ http://www.terralec.co.uk/ https://www.electromarket.co.uk/ |

Thanks garys.
I've been hearing the same from other people too. I'm getting the impression that, for smaller venues at least, smokes days are numbered! |

I think Thomann ships directly to UK for free if you order more than 100 pounds.
Really worth checking it out. |
