One more musician checking out in 2016. ELP blasted a huge hole in what was my youthful musical world and opened it up to so much progressive work.

I will always remember listening to Tarkus for the first time on my first true stereo. Freaking out to the sound of the moog going back and forth from the separated speakers.
RIP Greg Thanks for all the great memories listening to ELP and King Crimson. Eric |

RIP Greg indeed. I loved ELP and King Crimson. Both bands helped carry me through those many teenage and early-twenties moments.
Court of the Crimson King blew me away. From the art on the cover to the exquisite use of the Mellotron...excuse the horrible video... ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrXtmKGkSa4 ), which was at first quite the gimmick. King Crimson elevated that gimmick into art much like Eno turned the synth into a voice from the gods. I like this vid of ELP showing how innovative they were in concert and in performance. A lot of style mixing here between blues, jazz, pop, music clichés in general...so ahead of their time... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc3cNfn93Kw And this...bad video, but a great recording of a classic. Enjoy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrsW--Sh7YE
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Never was a big rock fan, but ALWAYS loved that ending of "Lucky Man"!
Always got totally lost in it whenever it came on the radio.

"If you believe in forever,
Then life is just a one night stand. If there's a rock and roll heaven, You know they've got a hell of a band" - Rightous Brothers. Rest In Peace Greg.
