AMcD Inner circle stacking for food! 3078 Posts |
@Simon
As you can see in the screenshot, it's not a glare. I didn't watch his others videos for I'm interested in real techniques only. The last decade, I have seen hundreds of fake videos and even if sometimes the ploy is nice, I don't really care about it. I'm interested in sleight of hand, not computer trickery. With my friends, we have a rule. Skype, 1080p cam, live. Trust me, you debunk all the wanabees fast. |

Arnold, do you think it's possible (realistically speaking) to stack with an in the hand riffle shuffle at an acceptable speed?
Simon, I think I got the shot thing, but a bit noisy. I can't sleeve it, nor I have any decent knowledge about slick sleeving, but I got a rough method about shooting a card from that position (let me try it a bit before I'll record it). I'll post it to the other thread about sleeving to keep some order. |

Hi Marco :
This guy also makes this kind of sleeve inserts to work with the sleeping technique. Hope you find it interesting. https://youtu.be/bs9oHRiRNcs |

Over the past several years, with the tremendous exposure of card table manipulative methods, some reality based but much of it complete BS or impractical, such exposures have produced a huge multitude, almost a frenzy of "experts," pseudo experts, demonstrators, performers, magicians, hobbyists and the like, coupled with complete incompetents, clowns and frauds in many instances, commenting, demonstrating and peddling their wares for a price. One only has to do a search on YouTube to pull up all types of "card table artifice," demos, some performed by youngsters who have never seen a live card game for money and appear to be only recently out of diapers, on up to all types of know-nothings together with a rare knowledgeable and proficient person making valid comments or performing skillful demonstrations.
Watching these "cheater" websites, often Asian and Chinese, is a relativity new experience for me, but from what I have seen they appear to be frequently populated by scammers who can easily victimize the visitor to their sites, primarily because the visitors usually have just enough knowledge, and sometimes enough larceny, to get themselves into trouble and easily succumb to making an "easy buck" using the cheating methods sold therein. The promise is you can make money at gambling with little knowledge and effort if only you have the "magic" method sold on the site. Unfortunately there is no "free lunch" or substitute for knowledge, experience and ability and the result is often not very satisfactory for the visitor/purchaser on these sites. From what I have seen so far, these sites take a concept that could possibly be feasible and then doctor the videos is such a way that the results are virtually and visually unreal and impossible. For example, on this thread it is quite possible and even practical to stack cards from the bottom of the deck up, from the top of the deck down and from both the top and bottom of the deck simultaneously. It is not only feasible but also practical if the correct techniques are used. The big disadvantage of running up cards from the top down, the most common and well known method, is that you end up with the stack on the top of the deck and then have to either cut or shuffle in a brief for the cut, or complete the stack while shuffling in the brief. Running up from the bottom of the deck eliminates that problem to a large extent, is little known and not expected. Running up three cards from the bottom up is theoretically possible with one shuffle as shown on this thread's videos but impractical on a couple of fronts. First of all, it requires tremendous skill to do this every time at an acceptable speed without missing and I don't know if it is even possible. It has to be done rhythmically (not counting off) and is akin to doing a perfect riffle shuffle of the entire deck at acceptable speed without missing every time. Except for demonstrators and the like, it is not feasible to attempt mastery of this or is it necessary. Also, it does not look good when viewed across the card table while it is being done which is one reason it is shown at a BS angle on these videos. This type run-up is done in three to four shuffles which fits into normal game procedure and while it takes considerable skill to do well, as with any riffle shuffle stack technique, and while incorporates some rhythmic technique, it is well within the realm of mastery, practical to use, can be done very fast or at normal speed and looks good which is why I kept an open mind as to the reality of what was being shown and discussed on this thread. However, even though it gives me great pain, anguish and trepidations to agree with AMcD, when he says, "Lol, what crap! Yeah, this is REAL stacking, sure..." and "I don't know how he does it, fake it, etc. And I don't care. It's not real," in my opinion his statement is correct although I probably would not say it that way. These riffle stacking and slick sleeve videos, while they are based in reality to a certain extent and can partially incorporate some valid techniques, are doctored and faked to such an extent as to achieve a "make-believe" result. The best benefit is it produced some lively and interesting commentary on this BB and a good idea or two. Can't complain about that but will never be able to live down agreeing with AMcD, albeit only one time in my life. |

Regarding the videos in the thread, I have to admit I don't have enough confidence an d knowledge to determine if it's real or fake. I just thought of some magic methods that could be used to fake it, but not sure if I can pull it off as cleanly as this guy. Still thank you all for your interest and great discussions. |

@Marco
Of course it's possible! I can tell you that I have seen people going very fast. But with overhand shuffles, usually, you stack for a small table, like from 4 to 6 players. And 3 cards is a maximum. Not only it's possible using the overhand riffle, but also using the Hindu/Asian shuffle, and again, some can do it very fast. That said, the guy in the videos above, even if they were not faked, I doubt he could do split stacking that fast. We never know, sure, but inserting a dozen spacers or so that fast in one riffle? Well, well, well... @Cag I used a very colloquial form because I'm fed up of all those clowns. We live in 2017 and people still use 320x240 cameras? What do they fear? If you are skilled enough, do it in high quality. I have little respect for guys using tricks, special effects, etc. A huge and deep disdain in fact. I remember 6 or 7 years ago, when we had online sessions with many people posting here, like Z, Clock88, etc. That was something! No trickery, just people handling cards. |

Use this free software to backward play it and see what you think.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JK9UuT0wJM It is easy to download and use, even for people like me who know nothing about the new world order.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

"This guy also makes this kind of sleeve inserts to work with the sleeping technique.
Hope you find it interesting. https://youtu.be/bs9oHRiRNcs " Is it a vacuum cleaner up his sleeve? Wtf lol. Somebody has to film the video with a vacuum cleaner sucking card like this I bet 10000% that it will look the same way. |
