While performing at one of my restaurant gigs, a woman handed me a note, smiled and then left. I didn't read the note right away
but when I did I was pleasantly surprised. I'd like to share it;

" The 2 girls you entertained....One is sad because her dad just got kicked out by her mom. The other is struggling with anxiety.
God bless you. Thank you. You made this mom cry. THANK YOU for making them smile & Laugh.

I thought it important to share because we never know how we as entertainers can impact someone.I have also encountered
rude people but there is probably a personal story behind thier behavior as well.

I always say that sometimes with magic, we as performers are more concerned about our fancy card manipulations or skills.
It's not about us it's all about our spectators. Thanks for letting me share.

---and that's the real purpose of magic - to make people feel good. And I'm sure that note made YOU feel good.

It wasn't my intention in any way to come off as sounding haughty.
I was touched by the note and wanted to share the experience. If it was perceived differently
as bragging it certainly wasn't meant that way.

It also lets us know the power of letting someone else know that they helped us through tough times.

Thank you David.

I hope the comment was meant as a compliment. Stories like this are inspirational - thanks David.

I can't Imagine a better way for showing appreciation..

No amount of applause can make you feel the way you feel when someone appreciates you like that..

For me, that's the ultimare reason for being a magician!

About once a week I run into an infant or small child, at a party, who’s being held by their mother and crying a fit.

All I do is produce a ball from their ear and make it vanish again. 99 percent of the time that’s all it takes to quiet them down .

Maybe all new parents should learn a simple production and vanish as part of their parenting classes.

That's "real" magic.
