Hello all,

hopefully I am in the right forum part here for my question:

For a show I am working on a spongballroutine, where I want to transform/produce as a finale about 28 sponges (2' + 1,5') out of my hand.
I'm looking for tips how to prepare a (fairly) small package with them stuffed together and stay together until the last moment of the producing.
I tried rubberbands, but I didn't find a good way to strap around.
I am sure there are already solutions out there in the magic world...
I am exited about YOur ideas.
Best whishes

1st you should use Super Soft Sponge Balls. You are a little excessive, why 28, as 10 to 13 seems to the limit. So as not to expose to much on an open forum, I suggest you try an open pill vial without the lid. Some magic is not possible unless you wear a coat.

Michael Ammar lecture had a "Spongeball Bomb"? Or a Bunny Bomb ? I think he called it. It was basically a tapered pill bottle ( like for ibuprofen and cut off the bottom . Stuffed the sponges into the bottle and when needed you cajoled push your thumb into the opening and receive the sponges into your hand. It was a bit more detailed than this but was a great idea. It wasn't a marketed item, but an idea. Check out his ideas for more.

Old pro', DICK STONER, is on YOO TOOB doing his club act in a casino for a private party. He has done this act for EONS. (It'a SMOOOOOTH! Many magicians will not be impressed! He does "standard stuff", but, he does it WELL!

He does a basic sponge ball routine, and finishes with a "bushel" (actually about 15) balls. He just has the balls in his pocket. If you know the basic concept, you'll have no problem seeing him get the final load. (Keep It SIMPLE, make it FUN!)

I used a basic "two ball and purse frame" routine in the high school program, for years. It always played well! I didn't do the "bushel" finish.

Tom Stone in his book "Vortex" tips a method of holding dozen (maybe a 100) various size sponge balls as a finale to a bowl routine. Take it down a notch and it can be hand held.

The book is on the pricy side (well worth it) if you can find it. An alternative is to go to Penquin Magic and get Tom's video of Vortex. It is a $30.00 download. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4924

Tell that to Tom Stone.

I've used a plastic shampoo bottle that I can reach my hand into to hold all the balls until I need them.

There's another brilliant idea by Tom Stone that he uses in his routine but I'm not at liberty to say the method.
I believe it's in his book vortex.
