In cleaning out a bunch of boxes, I found this 25 or 30-year-old packet trick.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/y5oubmujnj3rau......png?dl=0 Here is a bonus picture showing the backs of the cards: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0at4szmjm7uogo......png?dl=0 The only thing I remember about performance is that at the end, you use a feature of the packet wallet to swap the packet for a different set of cards, which can then be examined by the audience. Ideally I'd love to know the instructions so that I can once again perform the routine -- but I'd be happy just to know the name of the trick. |

Question: Are you certain that all of those cards go to a single packet trick, or is it possible that a a couple of packet tricks that got mixed together? I have seen all of those types of cards in one trick or another, but never in a single trick. Of course, that does not mean that one doesn't exist.

Now that you mention it, I can't be certain it was a single trick.
Like I said, I remember that the finale involved swapping one packet for another, so I know this single trick had at least two packets-- but it is entirely possible that I stored a an entirely different packet trick in the wallet as well. The last time I performed this trick, I was a teenager, and I'm 45 now, so I'm afraid it's a bit hazy! |

The backs could belong to Dirty Deal, by Bruce Cervon. That marvelous trick was marketed by Ken Brooke. The faces shouldn't be the same, though.

Thanks, Federico. I looked up a few variations of Dirty Deal on youtube and none of them ring a bell. It did trigger a vague memory that this packet trick may have involved a Hammond Count -- but obviously that doesn't narrow it down much...
So the mystery continues, but thanks for the suggestion! |

I want to say it is Wild Card Outdone, but I'm not going to swear to the Outdone part of the name as it's been a while since I've seen it. But it is a Wild Card routine where you do the regular Wild Card, put them in the wallet and then as an afterthought you pull them out and do it again but this time with the backs of the cards. I probably still have the cards somewhere, but not sure about the instructions as they're probably long gone.

After a little checking, it appears that Wild Card Outdone is the correct name for the effect and it was put out by Ron Frost.

Wow, thanks, Robert! I had pretty much despaired of ever tracking it down.
Now that I know the name, it looks like instructions can be found in Frank Garcia's Wildcard Miracles: http://archive.denisbehr.de/show.php?boo......ht=21310 Seems like that book is fairly widely available, so I'll be able to get a copy and -- after 30 some years -- perform the trick once more. Thanks again! |

Does anyone put these together anymore? I have a very used set of "Aviater" brand, bridge-size Wild Cards, and Ron Frost's Wild Card Outdone. I would love a set (or more) of each in "poker size" cards.

I should have specified Poker size Bicycle cards in a perfect world.
