Hi, I'm new to balloon twisting. How many balloons do you load in your apron for working a festival?

Hi Wayne
How long will you be expecting to twist for? How many balloons can you twist in that time frame? Allow a further 20% - 50% uplift balloons for breakages or imagination What is the complexity of the models you'll be making? Are you strolling or camped somewhere? Trust you'll have a blast at your Festival Peace |

Well, the festival goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I'm camped in one spot. I see your thinking though. Thanks for the advice.

I've never worked a festival doing balloon twisting for the full day. Only one or two hours max, usually along with performing some magic shows.
Speaking for myself, I know that I can go through about a bag of balloons in an hour, if I have a steady line, because I work quickly. So, for 2 hours, I might bring 2-1/2 to 3 bags, just so I have extra. But I count on doing about 100 balloons an hour. Also, one piece of advice is to bring along a cooler or something like that to store your bags of balloons in, so they aren't exposed to too much heat & sun. Bring out one bag at a time, and keep the rest stored in the cooler until you need them. - Donald

Fill your apron as full as it wills go, and if extra space is a problem, I'd limit the backup bags to red, black, gray, pink, and green.
Everybody wants to beleive.....we just help them along.

I agree 100% with the above post about putting extra balloons in a cooler or some place where you can get them if needed. You don't want to ruin a bunch of balloons by leaving them in
the heat all day, but then you can't afford to run out during a paid performance. Make sure you also have some extra pumps, depending on what kind you normally use for events. Good luck and you will be tired after working those kind of hours. Walking Bob in Iowa |
