I want to delve into some rubber band magic and had bought some of Joe Rindfleisch's rainbow bands but find that they are too large for my hands. Does anyone have recommendations for a good brand of rubber bands and size that are better for smaller hands. I was thinking size 16?? Do they make size 17 in case 16's are too small?? Thanks!

#16 and #19 are the most common you would ever use for 90% of rubber band magic. Even Michael Ammar used to use and promote #19 but now uses #16 for CMH and other effects. #16 being for smaller hands (2 1/2"L x 1/16"w) and more limited in colors, #19 (3 1/2"L x 1/16"w) has the most variety of colors available (thanks to Joe over the last few years). Many of the colored bands are from the medical lines and are latex free due to medical uses. The Alliance "Pale Crepe Gold" is still about the best band you can use if adding color is not your style. You may also try a 117 band (sometimes referred to as binder bands or File Bands at 7"L x 1/8"W) Walmart carries small bags in mixed colors like pink, blue and purple. These are nice for two handed effects where you hold them similar to a "cats cradle" configuration.
Most other size bands are way to wide to do most of the common rubber band effects you see. Here is a size chart. http://www.rubberband.com/about-us/rubber-bands-size-chart Just remember, you wont find many, if any, color variations in anything other that #19 commonly. There are different types of "rubber bands" made from different materials that you might though. Some however, just don't work with traditional effects because of what they are made of or how they are made.
