During the release of the recent "Las Vegas Chronicles" (LVC), we continued to record some conversations with some amazing people. Now that we have completed the LVC series, we are releasing the first of these that has been sitting since February 2017. Andrew Goldenhersh was in Houston performing at our annual "Installation of Officers' Banquet" and a guest in my home. We spent quite a bit of time talking about many things both magical and non-magic. While out for breakfast one morning, he received a phone call congratulating him on his nomination for "Close-Up Magician of the Year" by the Academy of Magical Arts (AMA). Later we went back home to record the podcast which you can hear this week on The Magic Word.

Of course the AMA awards banquet has come and gone and as you may (or may not) know, Andrew (and other competent and formidable nominees) lost to Richard Turner. But during our conversation, Andrew talked about his many other nominations and other losses and him finally winning "Parlour Magician of the Year" in both 2009 and 2010. But in the podcast, he also talks about working with actor, Jason Alexander ("George Castanza" on "Seinfeld" TV show) who won "Parlour Magician of the Year" in 2006...beating him out yet again. Andrew also talks about creating magic, working on an act, and the importance of pauses and silence in your act.
