I am, apparently, very rough on my strait jackets, so I can't keep using the ones I've tried so far (which are admittedly lower end price-wise)

I'm ready to make an investment on something I can beat to hell. Price isn't a super big deal, as long as it's worth it. I'm currently looking at the Houdini model (Performer favorite!) from Monkey Dungeon, possibly with strap width upgrades.

If anyone is willing to give a recommendation on somewhere else to get one, that would be awesome and appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Contact Jay Leslie either by PM here or his website. Great guy to work with.

Seconded on Jay. I've purchased from him before and have always been happy with it.
You can also go with Humane Restraint at their website. I've purchased one of my straitjackets there and it's worked out well for me.

I've always used a Posey.

You can get them from e restraint (FYI it's an "adult" site).

You can learn to do it with the loops or cheat and cut them off.

I still use my original Posey that I bought in 2004/5.

I use a Posey now, yeah. I prefer that as it gives me a bit to talk about how it is intended to keep my arms from simply going over the head.

Thanks for that! I got my Posey on Amazon (believe it or not!)...and clearly overpaid! I'm going to have to get the thing repaired one of these days, though. My wife's chihuahua chewed on some of the straps. It's not broken, but frayed. So far I've woven the damage into the act ("Yes folks, sometimes one must chew their way out...").

Yes that one is cheaper than the one I'm looking at currently. I'm not sure if it's the way I'll go (No question on the quality of a proper Posey, of course, but I'm also looking at aesthetics) but it's definitely in a decent price range.

The Monkey Dungeon jackets are definitely attractive, but if you get one, let us know about their durability!

Certainly. I'd be getting black canvas and black leather, with 2 inch straps (If I'm gonna make the investment, I'm gonna make it sturdy as hell) and I'll be happy to report back.

A shoe repair shop repaired my long strap years ago.

Actually they replaced it. (Over 20 years ago)

The one I'm currently needing to repair does have a broken strap, but previously it's that I tend to tear the straps out of the cloth of the jacket itself. Perhaps my 'dramatic flailing' is a bit more dramatic than it needs to be?

I'm just going to cut to the chase and pick up a nice thick canvas and leather one, though, and hopefully that will solve this problem.

If you have somewhere that makes canvas sails anywhere near you, they may be able to assist in a repair if your cobbler can't.
