Doing a search on YouTube I came up with a Joe Barry demo of doing a perfect riffle shuffle. This is not the demo I was referring to above and it really doesn't show the perfect riffle shuffle optimally. However, the big advantage of this video is it shows AMcD's all-time favorite card man, Dan Madison, doing the intro and explanation.
What will be disappointing to Madison fans is he uses no profanity on the video, doesn't rant and rave about himself being the greatest, and is not whacked out of his skull. If you can handle Madison acting uncharacteristically as a human being, this video should prove interesting. I should add that Joe Barry appears to be a very gentlemanly and nice fellow. In addition to learning a perfect riffle shuffle from Barry, perhaps Madison is taking lessons in civilized deportment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5NO6D3qwVc&t=6s |

Here is Richard Turner doing a perfect shuffle but he does not do it at speed so it appears to be more of a novelty demo as opposed to a practical move.

This is incredible. I attempted at this many times, never succeeded, not even once....

It would be interesting to see if anyone on this BB can actually do this perfect shuffle. Of course, Marcos is off to a great start. It would be interesting to see how far he can take it. |

A quick search on Goggle comes up with this:
Joe Barry's Inscrutable (2 DVD set) is sold by Penguin Magic. It appears he teaches his "in hands riffle faro shuffles technique" on Disk 2. For those who are interested, here is the link: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/8063 |

Interestingly it is rumored that it is being used by a top pub comp crew, lead by a mysterious Italian - who wears a boater.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Speaking from a card hustlers point of view it would work best in gin rummy or other 2 handed games. If you can achieve most of the times you would be a winner. Nicely done!

Accuracy is very important in this regard, especially on this forum. Many professional hustlers like to cite your posts as absolute fact, so please be more careful in the future. |
