Hello, everyone.
I recently started getting into performing magic, although I've always been just as happy being the uninformed spectator. I'm most interested in sleight of hand tricks and con games, such as the 3 shell game, 3 card Monte and fast and loose. In short, I like magic where no one expects a magic trick. I also am interested in mentalism, hypnosis and pickpocketing. |

Hello "Short con grifter!"
I'm an old (86!!!) carnie, so I can empathize. Welcome to our MOTLEY crew! Years ago, I did some mental stuff in my high school and college program. I did a pick pocket "act" (club dates) also, MANY years ago. Hyp. --I never did in a paid performance, but, did have success in casual "performances" when I was in the Navy (1950s).

Licker: I am sensing a person that lives by their own rules and walks to the beat of a different sort of drum. You may not always made the most correct choices in life but you adjusted and made your way through suscessfully, none the less. These are all skills that will help you in your magic journey. Welcome licker98,
I think being a good spectator in Magic makes for being a better Magician. Try to remember what you enjoyed about seeing Magic before you were an insider and you'll have better instincts and make better choices in the Magic you choose to pursue. As we become more informed it can make it harder to relate to the spectators. With your interests I will add a caveat to be honest (in actual gaming) and safe. -Mary Mowder |
