I'm looking for any sources that contain a torn and restored rubber band effect.
Thanks, Ronald

Klutz Book of Magic and Michael Ammar's big green book.

Ronald S.,
Jon Allen's video Spectator's Don't Exist is one of the best that teaches this effect; Jon takes the old Harry Lorayne method and turns it into a routine that makes the effect more than just a throw away. BWind |

Michael Ammar has a routine as well. The one in klutz is neat because you can have the spectator cut the rubber band w/ scissors.
EDIT: I just realized that in Klutz the trick is cut and restored ribbon, but I adapted it for use w/ a thick rubber band. |

You'll find a method in one of the Dan Harlan videos. No double-band, very visual.

Joe Rindfleisch (SP) has one of the best broken and restored rubber band effects. You can see it on his website. Sorry, don't have the link at this time.

The broken & restored band featured on Volume 2 of Magic With Rubberbands just happens to be Joe Rindfleisch's !Pans. That should save you a little time! It really is quick, visual and convincing without all the usual doubling over. Plus, you'll also learn some other B&R stuff on that volume too.

BWind: My original SNAP! is SUPPOSED to be presented as a throw-away. In many cases, and in my opinion, this is one of them, God save us from "improvements." HARRY LORAYNE.

Hey Guys
One of the beautiful things about the magic Café is you get to hear the opinions of experts. Here we have inputs from Dan Harlan, and Mr. Lorayne at the same time. It is a pleasure to hear form the inventors themselves. HAVE FUN Al Angello PS- With all due respect to Mr. Lorayne & Mr. Harlan, my vote is for "the Mendoza move", but I'm no expert.

In addition to the great one's mentioned, Chad Long also has a nice version.

However, although I love the Mendoza move - especially for linking rings bands etc, I still think the Ammar get ready for the broken and restored band is the best (that I have seen). I find the get ready that much quick and innocent looking. - just my own opinion you understand... |

I just use a Tip and switch for it. Not exactly the best way of doing it, but it gets the job done.
