Hi Folks,
Long ago there was a trick sold with a black plastic cap, four palming coins and one gaff which looks like the inside of the cap on one side. Has this item been re-made using today's gaffs and money coins? -Jon

For the record: I believe the "original" version of this apparatus came with an all metal cap. The black plastic was a later development.

Thanks Julie -
Be nice to have a modern version as a coinbox bottom - then buy two sets and do the trick in Hoffmann's More Magic

You mean something like Dynamic coins? I'm not entirely sure what the effect was, from that description, so it's a bit hard to tell.
That or an Okito routine with a JG Tompson Coin https://www.johnsonmagicproducts.com/sho......ts_id=97 |

Bob Swadling put out an Okito box which included a gimmick similar to the JG Thompson coin (also in half dollar). I think it may also have been magnetic but can't be sure.

There was a set called Cups and Coins:

Roughly - the mystic coins looks like a cute setup to do the Roth ] coins across as a "through the hand" penetration (just using the bottom of the box not lid ) with a couple of repeats. The Mystic Coin gaff looks like a cute way to make a single coin vanish from the box as finale when you put the lid on the box. Taking that to the next step - there's the Hoffmann coins across trick using two [s that really needs a last coin vanish

Bob's Box does things similar to what the OP asks, but with an alternative method to the JG Thompson coin. So some potential overlap, but in a very different way.
Dynamic coins is a little similar to Kangaroo coins, but with stacks instead of just one. So it's not quite the same as sympathetic coins. |

Does the basic okito turnover strategy work with Bob's box? Five coins, four, hold English pennies?
BTW his items have the finest packaging and inserts...craftsmanship all the way.

It's been a while since I held one, but I recall it was big enough to hold English pennies, possibly even a shelled penny. It could hold 5 half dollars - the pennies are a tad thinner, so probably six of those. Turnovers are certainly possible but there's a little more nuance to it, because of the nature of the box. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks, and also for the PM. I may have to attend a convention to play with a Swadling Box at a dealer's counter.

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......
