So you are saying they are selling them at cost?? Seems logical they slapped an upcharge on them. But sourcing directly from the company you think would yield a better price than every other seller on the Internet.

How many more people purchased this item without leaving a review? My guess would be thousands more. I don't think lybrary has that kind of purchasing power. Lybrary does have great customer service though and many things you'll never find on Amazon. |

As low as $9.33 actually and cheaper when buying in bulk. But I think we are getting off topic here. This is not about corner rounders. You won’t win this argument.

I am sure you can find even cheaper Chinese knockoffs, which break after the second use. It is a matter of supporting a community or not. I don't see Amazon posting to this forum, answering questions, or providing helpful pointers. I am participating in the discussion here on this forum, and privately via email and PM. I have spent many years researching and exploring card making, the tools, the supplies, the techniques. I have made long and detailed tutorials freely available for anybody who is interested. See for example this article https://www.lybrary.com/how-to-make-your......-11.html
By spending two or three bucks more on a corner rounder from Lybrary.com you are supporting the community, and in particular my efforts in finding, testing, sourcing, and providing the best supplies and tools for magicians, and folks who like to make their own cards. It is a choice everybody has to make.

First of all, the guy just admitted that he buys it and sells it for a profit right after saying the reason there’s a higher cost is because he sources direct from the supplier in Japan. Now he changes his story and says well I put an upcharge so I can support my business and the community. So why not just spend a few extra bucks with me? Buying these in bulk from the manufacturer are half of what he is selling them for. So don’t give me this crap about he won the argument. Chris finally gave an honest answer and I am glad for that. I am also happy to support the community by spending a few bucks extra. I do that often. Until now I wasn’t even aware Lybrary sold devices like this.

I have bought a couple nice "Physical items" from Lybrary.com in the past. They sell a really nice card stand for Simon Aronson's "Two by Two" effect that I find is perfect for the effect. I bought the old style corner trimmer he used to sell (which was industrial grade compared to craft trimmers), I have bought Shuber Blades that not only protect cards and look good, but they make great press plates when gaffing cards.
There is a few nice 3D printed items on the "menu" now too. I have always wanted to get his Card Cutter, card stock and finish to produce my own printed cards from time to time in smaller quantities. Most of what I have learned about gaffing came thru his site, books, articles...

I simply told you what I do, because you accused me of getting it from Amazon and then reselling it. That is not what I do. I source from Japan, directly from the supplier, add a bit of a profit margin, as any retail business has to, otherwise it is not a business, and offer it for sale. Lybrary.com is a for profit business. It supports my family. Exactly how much profit margin one adds often depends on scale. The fact that Amazon probably buys in higher quantities and can live with a smaller profit margin are scale issues. But they also do not spend the time and associated cost to participate here or otherwise in the magic community. Those are some of the reasons why they can offer it for a bit less.

My apologies as I didn’t mean to derail the thread. Just wanted to point out the corner rounder I got from Lybrary, mainly because I felt it was a great buy, and that, like others, they might not know Lybrary sold physical products.
To get back on topic, are there any good books, manuals, or magazine articles on how to trim cards, make strippers, etc.?

There are good starting points on the first page, did you see them?😎
I learned by just buying, first a cheaper cutter that was sold through Stevens Magic called the Line-Lo cutter, then moved on to a more precise cutter. Also, check out Subrosa by Jason England, it’s a great introduction to belly strippers. |

I have dealt w/library.com for years and find chris to be one of the most honest, intelligent, fair guys in magic.china and other rip-offs are destroying many good items with shoddy workmanship...you get what you pay for.buy right the first time after researching all markets and possibilities...
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.
