I recently purchased multiplying golf balls.I haven't recieved them yet though. Is it easy to do if you are very ambidextrous at sleight of hand?

The handling might feel cumbersome to begin with. The rubber balls are heavy, it will take some time to get used to working with them, though being ambidextrous might help a little.
It's a bit like riding a bike, once you get the basics down, it's difficult to forget. |

Like anything, you must get accustomed to it. Your fingers are not used to moving in the ways you need them to. This is why you must use the balls and do finger exercises to get the fingers more nimble and used to being stretched in those manners.

Hey, I have those mutilplying golf balls, just bought them. They are pretty good, only downside is the grip could be slightly better, but once you get use to it, it is nice. Also, I'm not ambidextrous, but it would help. Thanks... Kyle
Thanks... Kyle

When practicing, make sure you work with both hands. Also video tape your practice runs. This is the best way to catch mistakes in method before they become habit-forming.

Once you get that routine down pat, I think it will be your favorite...it was for me! I loved it...seemed to work all by itself...the rubber balls (old original Ireland set) just glide thru the moves. Once your fingers are accustomed to it, it is virtually effortless!
My suggestion though, is no patter. Forgive me, but that's just the way I feel it plays best. If any patter at all, it's usually for the intro...am I way off here, Kyle? Patter, yea or nay? Learn that "shell show" move, tho'...that "proves" no gaffs...fools the ones who think they know...LOL! |

I like the old ball thru silk with the Ireland balls and shell.

Pete, this is also possible with Fakini balls, it's a cute little effect isn't it!

I find it harder to do with the Fakini's though... It is a nice effect for sure with a Green silk handkerchief. (Note: I hate the term "silk")!!

Just keep working with it and as your hands get accustomed to the positions, you will find that awkwardness will start to go away on its own.

The ball manipulations are a great effect which pleases the audience and the magician! Being ambidextrous can only help...but hey, why not try it bilingual too! LOL.

Pleasing the audience is the key. The magician should never perform any effect or routine just to please him or herself alone. We are there to entertain them first. If we get enjoyment from them being entertained, then that is really what matters most.
Try also to make your manipulative routines interesting and fun for the audience. Keep in mind that the audience has no clue that you know 15 ways to make a ball vanish. To them you made the ball vanish and now your doing it again. Give the audience more to get excited about and thank creatively. Kyle
