I took my Mirage off the shelf today and tried it and much to my dismay the blade would not exit from the other side. Tried many things but no luck. Thankfully I have a back up copy. Decided to carefully take the unit apart...
 Amazingly was able to "re-set" it and get it working again  The mechanism is relatively simple but ingenious.

Now that I know these can possibly fail am reluctant to sell my back-up unfortunately. If that changes will definitely let you know!
