Hello everyone,
I started learning some coin magic using the Metal series of dvd and I'm now practicing the Retention Vanish. Eric uses only the middle finger to carry away the coin so you end up with the middle finger holding the coin against the thumb parallel to the floor and the ceiling. The thing is that holding the coin in such a way freezes the hand (at least my hand) and he doesn't explain how to move from that position to another concealment. So...am I missing something? Someone of you uses such a technique or switched out for another type of RV? Thanks |

I reviewed the video via "Magic Stream"
At the point, all you need is straighten your middle finger to let loose of the coin and drop it to !@#$** palm. If you also know other concealment, then you can go anywhere from there. I believe what's important at this point is for your hands to be comfortable enough to move into these concealment. |

I believe the use of the middle finger pulling the coin under the thumb is the same action as Al Schneider's Snap back vanish. My own Variation retention pass is based on Al's vanish, and uses the same basic technique. I haven't seen Eric's move, but I wonder how it differs.

Eyes should be on the left hand where it looks that you put the coin, it is during that time that you (as you are moving your right hand) place the stolen coin into position, and maybe just give a casually, deceptive wave of the right hand over the left hand and show that the coin has vanished there. This all should happen in one great motion (with a little beat in-between) of the right hand...You can do it! *Oh, and welcome to the Café...youve found the mother load.
