Interesting indeed. Now I'm beginning to understand the often seen attitude towards Paul Gordon. I couldn't understand it before. I agree that a couple of -what seem like vanity- changes doesn't constitute a new or improved version but that's just my opinion.
Pity the video of Daren performing this is not there now. I would've enjoyed seeing it.

Does anyone have a link of Darwin on the Paul Daniels show by any chance?

I have highlighted a similar scenario with Paul Gordon's 'That's not Possible' being pre-dated (in publishing terms) by over two decades with 'Come Again' by Jerry Sadowitz. Oddly 'Come Together' (a pre-cursor to 'Come Again') and 'The More Things Change' are both found in Alternative Card Magic by Jerry Sadowitz 1982.
Thread here - https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......&forum=2 I also note that in Apocalypse Vol. 16-20 (Vol. 19 No. 9) page 2689 September 1996 (14 years after Alternative Card Magic) where Ultimate Transposition there has been no effort by Harry Lorayne or Paul Gordon to credit Jerry Sadowitz. Please don't even try and say it was a coincidence. Put yourself in Jerry's shoes, I'd be very upset about this even if it was an oversight, and even if years later Paul Gordon does acknowledge the inspiration, the damage has already been done. Is it too much to ask for recognition for something you have created? Especially when they are ground breaking seminal effects that must have been on everyone's radar, with Darwin Ortiz even performing it in the 80's on The Paul Daniel's magic show, and then in the 90's the Ultimate Transposition pops up in Apocalypse with no credit, what a slap in the face. Crediting is important to our art and I am determined that the record is clear for future magicians, I also wonder what may have been if Jerry Sadowitz had been treated with the respect he deserves by his Peers and not (quite understandably) decided that enough was enough and shut up shop. It has a damaging and lasting effect and we should call it out wherever possible. Based on some comments in this thread and the other referenced above it appears I am not alone in thinking that there is too much of this going on in Paul Gordon's material and I would urge the reader of his books to be aware of this fact. Just to be clear I'm not calling Denis out, he does an excellent job and the conjuring archive is an invaluable resource. I've contacted Denis over this and due to the way indexing is done it won't accurately reflect things until Card Magic Companion is indexed (if it is ever done). The intention of my post is highlighting the history of the effect for magicians that are interested, the conjuring archive was a side note. i.e. I wanted to avoid any confusion.

I have an effect, I have three ropes one has a queen drawn on one side and the other two have jokers. I throw the ropes down and mix them up and you have to guess which one is the Queen. I call it three rope monte. Featuring a new move called the Rope Toss.
But seriously this is only going to appeal to magicians that know what the Professors Nightmare is, surely? Quote: On Jul 23, 2020, StephanString wrote:
