Maybe I'm underthinking this, but it seems like you might just say something like, "we'll keep that covered up right there, so no one can touch it." Unless the spectators see right through the hokery pokery with the cards, if they consider that the cloth may have had something to do with the reveal, they'll dismiss that quickly based on the number of cards you started with. It helps that magicians like to put cloths and silks over all kinds of props anyway, whether they contribute to the method or not, so the visual has a certain clichéd familiarity.

All I can say is, nobody has ever touched a prediction that I have left on a table before I was ready for it to be touched.
All of them actually require me to do some handling of the prediction or envelope. I currently use 4 things with written predictions- "X-Act", which uses a funny envelope that can't ever be touched by a spec (I've eliminated the funny playing card), "Shuffleboard", which uses an out in the open many-paneled prediction that never changes, a 4 out routine with "The Gift", and the 2 deck "The Code" routine (I forget the name of the actual routine), which requires a prediction miscall in a normal envelope. I leave them all on the table and nobody ever touches them. But if this suits your style (and I really think it's mostly a style issue), then go ahead and use it. And one more thing- I don't use silks, except for one children's routine. It's not my thing.

I like "X-Act" too, but the one time I showed it to my Dad, first thing he said was, "let me see the back of the card." He's quite smart, and no one else has ever said that, but it did leave me wondering how many folks may be thinking it but not saying it.

That's why I created a special envelope.
The card can be handed out with no problem, and the envelope can be visually examined to be empty.

Hey guys, let me chime in here...
I decided to release this because many fellow magicians and mentalists asked me to. I fact, Luca Volpe an I have been talking about releasing this idea to the public for the first time in February 2012. I decided to hold back because I wanted to keep this to myself because I still do this in every show I perform. (Currently I use it in connection with my JACR chair routine). Glassandra is really versatile, it packs flat and only needs a silk and a glass you can even borrow. And it just looks cool even in casual performances. I do not think like a magician who is trying to think like an audience member. ;-) - I have a degree in theatrical sciences and approach everything I do theoretically and with the rules of theater dramatic structuring in mind. Having something in a glass covered with a cloth is a riddle, which keeps the audience focusing on what is going on. It is a dramatic means, not a question of motivating and justifying the use of a glass covered with a silk. After all, it is just a silk! If you feel it is awkward, don't buy it - but if you give it a try I am pretty sure you (and more importantly your audience) will love it. It works like a charm. The cloth looks completely empty after the effect and can be crumbled up and placed in the glass, you only handle the silk at your fingertips without any detectable moves... I just love it. I have never ever released anything I did not perform with huge success hundreds of times (Glassandra, I even did in my FISM act), and can promise you best quality. The gimmicks are handmade and look great and work like a charm. If you have any questions concerning Galssandra, feel free to ask. Best Stefan |

A prediction inside an envelope is the same riddle as a prediction in a glass covered by a black cloth. When I use "The Gift", I tell my specs that I have 3 things in the box. I then proceed to show them 2 things, then I cover the box back up, and the third item, (the prediction) is unknown until the end. That's a riddle! In the Murphy's video, you said to the first woman before you started that she was going to find out "which of these images I've placed in the glass" as you lift up the cloth while your hand is clamped down tightly on it. So you revealed the riddle before anything happened. The riddle might as well have been covered in a simple envelope on the table, rather than a glass covered by a large black cloth. I am a simple envelope type of guy. You and Luca are dramatic glass covered by a mysterious black cloth types of guys. I get it. We are different types of performers. I get it. That's why you two make tons of money as a performer and I don't. I get it. You and Luca would rather see David Copperfield or Sigfried and Roy, I'd rather see The Coney Island Sideshow (and I have). I get it. Good luck with your release!

I so want to like this one.
I showed my daughter. She wasn’t too impressed. I would like to see more performances of this. The handling does look awkward. And if awkward in his hands... mine would be way obvious for sure! Any way to have a second cloth? To hand out? That would work for me. And even Be able to use the cloth for another effect would truly be awesome! So Use the “cloth” to perform an effect prior to this. Then use “this” cloth for this effect. Hard to explain on here. I think you understand? So my question. Can I get an exact cloth like this one as well? Mike |

I personally do not see the need for a duplicate, ungimmicked cloth. I can see how the cloth can increase the theatrical impact of the prediction. It should be treated like an ordinary cloth. Thank you again for your thoughts. Michael

I’ve used Destiny Deck as a simple forcing deck even having the spec deal cards face up until they want to stop.

We're not looking for more reviews at all, especially by magic shops.
