That's the exact problem, many think they have a professional sound system when they really don't. While the Bose is certainly better than the Happy Amy or Passports, I would never consider it a professional sound system.

In my humble opinion the Bose is more then capable for 90% of what I do (mainly kid's parties, and in bigger theaters a sound system is provided) and it weighs very little for wich my back is grateful. But I honestly would lle to know what kind of sound system you suggest? Thanks |

Go back and read Mindpro's comment again, Ditto Mr. Woolery's. Ditto Ken Northridge. (Mine, too.) I could tell you horror stories about passing out candy. Ignore the balloons suggestion (Latex allergies) also.
You need to learn more about ENTERTAINMENT! (Magic is NOT INHERENTLY ENTERTAINING!!!) It aint the PROPS! It's the PERFORMER!!! Pick up my dvd of my school show. Read my book. I made a living for 50 years, with the simplest of generic props! [/quote] I will look into it, thanks |

With that clearly understood, I will be more than happy to further explain what I mean by a professional system, especially in the eyes of sound reinforcement and the sound and audio professions. Now Let me offer this to you with a WARNING!... I previously discussed this in great detail in the following thread. The link provided below is the page where I specifically discuss the Bose systems. To truly understand the full essence of the thread and topic of sound systems, and the most complete understanding, you should go back to page one of the thread and start at the beginning. A couple of points to note: 1. In this thread, you will learn a great deal about sound systems - more than many magicians know 2. You will easily be able to see and distinguish who the kid's magicians are in the thread and their very limiting, uneducated, and very defensive views and understanding on this topic. 3. You will even see that at one point the very same topic of sound systems is taken from its current location and is restarted in this very Little Darlins section. You will immediately see the difference in responses, acceptance, understanding, and willingness to learn and participate. It is very telling and shows some of the limiting perceptions, knowledge, acceptance, and the specific tone in Little Darlins has opposed to other forums on the Café - actually it's quite eye-opening and revealing. (Keeping in mind this effort was being made by a kids performer himself with the best of intentions of sharing this with and helping/enlightening other kids performers and the Little Darlins section and community here - he had only the best and most pure intentions). My suggestion is to pop a big bowl of popcorn and get a large glass of your favorite drink to take it all in. To follow the journey and its final outcome (another reason you may want to start from the beginning of the thread on page 1.) Enjoy! (I'm sure the Little Darlins reactions will be forthcoming...) https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......start=40 |

Mindpro's link works for me, Randy. It takes you to the top of page three of a multi-page thread.

How many people would spend $1M on their "new show" and it would be worse than their original show?
Without a significant investment in the time needed to re-create and perfect your entire act with a bunch of new props/routines, probably most, if not all, would end up with an inferior act. Unless you really have a crap act to begin with, spending money on new tricks and props isn't going to make it better.
