Since Mother's Day has now come and gone, I thought perhaps it would be interesting to share what we did for our mothers today. Magically speaking, of course.
I did one trick for my mom. A real simple one, but it was well-received. I took a red thread and said that it represented a mother's heart. Through the years, various things take their toll: a child being hurt (break the thread), a kid saying "I hate you," (break the thread again), so on, so forth (break the thread a couple more times). All those things can leave a mother's heart kind of a mess (wrap all the pieces up into a little ball). But on Mother's Day, when the kids say, "I love you, Mom," things can be restored. (Show thread restored and unbroken.) Like I said, a simple trick with a simple story. She wasn't amazed or dumbfounded (she's seen me do too many tricks for that ), but she enjoyed and appreciated the story. So, how did you show your appreciation for your mom today? |
