I have resized a photo down to 200x147 pixels and it is still too big when I try to post it. What do I do to be able to post photo?
Thank you Pete

Posting Photos can be a real problem here. Perhaps we need a posted "Cheat Sheet" on this topic.

The "Cheat Sheet" is pretty simple. When you want to make an attachment, the size limitations are posted. The size can't exceed 100 x 100 pixels and 15 Bytes. If you want a true picture, save the photo on your hard drive and provide a link to that file.
If you look at Peter's original post, he stated his photo was 200 by 147 pixels. That exceeds the size limit

… all my years here I've never been able to post a photo !
doubt I'll live long enough! the above sounded good, don't get the drift of the jargon (pixels etc) I've sized it to .25 (61.6KB) 81 year old brains suck! |

Thomas, pixels refers to the actual size of the picture. When you try to attach a photo, hover over the picture and it should show you the width and height. You have to resize that to 500 pixels wide by 700 pixels high.

You can use this link if you don't have an app. On step 2, put 100 for width and length

There are several apps that will resize your photo. For this link, you may find 100 pixels is too small especially since we allow 500 x 700 pixels.

Thomas, this may seem like a silly question, but how did you get your avatar uploaded? the size requirement and upload process is exactly the same for attaching photos to a post. The only difference is an avatar is uploaded by editing your profile and a photo is uploaded by using the attach file at the bottom of a post.
