Coming a little late to the discussion but I saw DC about 1/2 years ago. Overall great show imo. One huge fooler for me was the ufo, crazy. Other effects were good did not think that the best friend Dino was that great of a closer but just my opinion.

I'll admit that when I had a night off in January, I got tickets with no expectations. I knew it would be good and polished but I had no idea what else to expect. There are SO many incredibly clever moments starting with the Stage Manager/Tech Guy opening the show by framing it in a way that was both unexpected and brilliant. It created a reference point for the entire show which positioned it in a totally unique and perfect way. There were SO many interactive moments that actually occurred out in the middle of the audience in addition to the wonderful pieces on stage. I had zero expectations of the "alien" sequence which I couldn't understand from the few impressions I had gleaned before the trip. It was such a beautifully thought segment utilizing this additional character to add interest to existing illusions and create yet another family story line to ingratiate him even more to the already willing audience. Yes, the moments you've all heard of are above spectacular. The UFO appearance which I couldn't imagine being any good yet blew me away. Even the call back Dinosaur production that closed the show book-ended the evening in such a perfect way that it strangely seemed to fit right in to this story-line. It is clear that I don't know of anyone who works harder at refining every subtlety and nuance of a performance than David. It seems that he is constantly studying, reviewing and improving every second of the show to make it better. There were WAY too many amazing moments to recount but suffice it to say that when things return... it is a MUST see for anyone who cares about our art.

You are right even down to the time travel effect where the guy leaves the theater. don't want to spoil it. Anything else like that you picked up on.

I’ve seen so many “large object” appearances over the years. Helicopters, fighter jets, statues, etc.
The way that Copperfields show makes a car and a dinosaur appearance emotional is something worth studying over and over and over again.

I think that is really what separates him from the rest. He uses spectacle to reinforce the message rather than just stand on its own. It's a totally unique technique.

Agree ^, what'd you think about the part where he comes up in the audience with confetti, not amazing magic but great story with the audience reappearance.

If you want a more detailed review of Copperfield's current show I can give you one by the way... I don't want to give too much away but the show has been basically this for a while now....
Moto Shadow Box
Special Guest Levitation in Audience
Lottery Prediction (pretty much the best prediction style routine you'll ever see... and the finale makes it a true "Grand Illusion")
Squeeze Box (this was gone last time I saw him I think... maybe it's back?)
Balloon Popping Trick
"Word Collection Trick" which is kinda a prediction I guess.
Floating Rose
Webster the Duck / Duck Bucket
Alien Routine (This is the brand new "classic" DC style routine that combines storytelling, theatrics, small magic, and huge illusions into one long routine / story. Parts of it are cheesy, parts of it give you that warm fuzzy "This is classic Copperfield" feeling, and parts of it will make you go "oh wow.. how did that just happen?"
And the Finale is his new "Best Friend Frank" routine which again is classic Copperfield storytelling meets somewhat predictable grand illusion.
The show seems to repeat itself alot. There are 4 major "large object" appearances during the show. And there are several other vanish / reappearances of people / small objects (like ducks and aliens). Its just a lot of stuff appearing and disappearing. There's also 3 different prediction type effects in the show.
Like I said.. there's thing's you aren't going to see anywhere else in DC's show. There's a lot of new technology used. And it's a great show staged in the classic DC way.
which part was the audio recording thing part of, I completely forgot.

The lottery. I’m old enough that I remember when it was a cassette tape not a usb stick.
