Is this new? I think I've seen magnetic ring and rope versions previously. Then again, I'm presuming it's magnetic. So if it isn't, they fooled me. Or maybe it's just a new take on that premise and they are doing it differently. |

No, I think you're correct...reminds me of Fantasma Ring Escape, taught by Magic Balay, a great teacher fo sure

Yes I thought Magnets too, but I have watched the part where it is tied on to the rope several times and I was quite "convinced" by the tie - there seems to have been a lot of thought around the shape of the string when looped on to a ring like that.

I bought this same thing years ago at a convention and used it for a long time. Well worth $19.95!

TENYO has release the same effect with ring and rope. I guess they are using same method.

I got this yesterday and I like it a lot. A little different take on the usual gimmick.

I assume you cannot allow the cord to be examined, correct?

Simple but amazing gimmick, more clever and well thought out than I anticipated, despite roughly knowing the method. Now the instructional video... it is really badly produced, bad lighting, sound and teaching. For something as good as this it deserved better. That being said; everything you see in the trailer is covered in the 5 minutes, and after a few re-watches I fully understood every move. I feel like there is more that could be done with this gimmick and would have liked to have seen a longer, more in-depth exploration of the idea. Still well worth the price, I like it a lot

Watch this video, the routine with the ring. It starts at 08:12. Very visual:

The guy doing the demo is really good, though. Makes me want to get it back out and practice - just not for close up in normal light.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

I have world's greatest magic - ring on rope, as well as devil's tail by Sankey and the techniques on these dvds are very nice with clear instructions.
Is Needle's eye actually a much different approach? In other words, will I learn something new from it? |

I read some reviews here on the Café and other places. The usual, some loved it and others not so much. At 60 bucks plus shipping it is no doubt pricey for what it is. But I have to say that mine looked really good. For the times when you can't hide the gaff with your hand or the ribbon, if you just keep it moving a bit and I think you could get away with it pretty close-up (maybe 4 feet) and in bright lighting. The ring is plastic and not metal which will turn some people off, especially for the price. But I do like the clean white look of it, and it makes it much lighter as well for carrying in your pocket. It's the kind of routine you would want to take a step back and perform anyway IMO, and not be right in their face. We all have certain effects that we are fond of, and I have always had a weakness for ring and ribbon penetrations so this one really got me excited because it is so visual. It does come with a matching ungaffed ring so all can be examined before and after if you so desire. https://www.seomagic-usa.com/product_inf......s_id/694 |

I bought this thinking it would work well alongside "Ring Thing".
But - it's the exact same gimmick, except this is extremely poorly done. The thread is cheap shoelace and the ring is just a bent piece of steel - not welded shut - meaning it has a small gap, almost like a key ring. There's some nice moves in the instructional video, but the quality of the gimmick leaves a lot to be desired. |
