Hello all,
Recently I have been delving into the world of palming cards, as I never had the guts before. I recently, and comfortably classic palmed the card in front of a spectator and did a pocket reveal and it felt like a real achievement! A move I am currently studying is the Tenkai palm steal. Its is in a Sankey series and his teaching of it is titled "in case of tenkai". Its a beautiful move but *** it seems bold. However it's early days and I will continue to work away. What I like about the tenkai is that there is a real naturalness to it. The freely moving fingers is so deceptive, and the angles are not excruciating, but of course one had to be careful. So I have two questions the magician community: 1) what is your favourite palm and have you ever been caught doing it? 2) What is your favourite thing to do with a palmed card and why? (So far I've only played with an under the box and a to pocket) Elliott |

Top Palm - Marlo's Misdirection Palm and One Handed Top Palm
Bottom Palm: Erdnase Bottom Palm Uses: Card to pocket; spec asks to shuffle deck (although holding out can be dangerous); card to wallet; color change Not caught so far, that I know about. In general, people are nice. I had "palmaphobia" for a long time. Now I use the technique a lot. If you receive The Linking Ring, look for my column in the Card Corner titled "Palmaphobia." I teach both techniques listed above. Check the May 2015 and August 2015 columns. Mike

After crimping I immediately hand the deck back for shuffling..... the only added benefit of the palm I suppose is being able to plant the card somewhere (a ballsy move in a crowd), would you not agree? |

Glenn Morphew's one handed top palm instructions made all the difference for me.
I use his technique regularly. Thanks Glenn...

I love classic palm. It was a struggle for me at first since I have extra large hands and I couldn't palm the way the books taught. But I found it to my advantage as I can classic palm deeper into my hand and allow my fingers to separate a little.

I second the motion for Glenn Morphew's One Handed Top Palm. Watch him on P&T.

To me a good instant bottom palm is the best. You can hand them the deck with the hand you normally would palm with (a regular palm). Nobody even suspects a good bottom palm. I use it in my shows and walk around all the time. It is as invisible of a palm as it gets, but your experience may differ.

Speaking of palms, has anyone checked out Javi Benitez's dvd? I think he is one of the best palmers out there and I was looking into getting this.

Palming is something always done on the offbeat. With proper motivation and misdirection they should never even look at the hand holding out.
