Hi everyone, I posted this over on the Now that’s funny forum to outline my efforts to make my routines/scripts more entertaining. But I thought it could also be of some interest to those that do routines with sponge balls and/or people that have a Sa... gimmick (I hope that abbreviation makes sense!) and are interested in seeing different handlings.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fvk722MInR0 Full disclosure. I’m one of those that want my TT or Sa...gimmick or other feke/gimmick to as closely match my skin tone as possible. I’m not advocating for poor use, handling or technique. I know that with the right technique you do not need to worry about color. But I’ve just found that a closely matching TT or Sa... or similar feke can allow me to do some extra moves that I don’t feel I could otherwise get away with. So for the record I’m using a Sa... gimmick that I have painted (I draw and paint as a hobby). I’m not even suggesting that the feke would remain invisible to multiple viewings, it’s just meant to be presented to the same audience once🙂 John |

A creative story line and fine example of the "garden path" approach to false expectation.
For an audience not paying full attention, you might even consider "accidentally" flashing the ball once after the cross-transfer. Since the Sa-hand has an unnatural lower finger posture in a point gesture, I suggest mimicing that same posture with he right hand too. i.e. train the observer as to what is natural for you. I do have some mild concerns over effects you may follow with, but we can discuss that off-forum. Also a variation where you can show both hands completely/actually empty at the end. For this thread, keep up the exploration and use of humor and fun as part of magic.

Many thanks Ken! A couple of people very kindly pm’d me about the script and my attempt to add humor. I’ve kind of addressed that in the Now that’s funny forum. You’ve given me some really good points to consider the: the structure of the routine and my handling. John
