I don't have the Morgan & West version, but could figure it out from the demo videos. I think it is a fantastic solution for a stage setting (looks great, but magician needs to handle everything). Perhaps not so suitable for informal situations? Having watched the demos, I was surprised that they didn't show the second group as all red cards up-front. I think it would be better to establish this condition early. As far as I can tell, the method would support this display just fine. And it ought to be possible to improve the spread of the 10 black cards to remove a discrepancy there. In fact you ought to be able to leave the 10 black cards in a pile face-up - which would be very disarming. |

I actually just got this a few weeks ago and finally watched the (very thorough, very useful -- and very funny) instructions earlier this week. I disagree with Nikodemus that it needs to be done on stage. It's great for informal. As I had stated earlier in the thread it's obvious that you end up dirty, but there are built in points to cover for that so that it feels like you end totally clean. And the specs do, somewhat, handle the cards, but in a limited way, and M&W give really good instructions on audience management to make all of it work smoothly. Also, I was impressed at how the set is made, such that it's actually more difficult for the spec to realize the cards are gaffed than you might otherwise think (even though I knew what was going on, when I first took the cards out of the packet, before watching the instructions, I actually missed "the secret" on the red cards, and was confused, because I thought maybe it wasn't what I expected. It turned out it was, but it was put together in a way I didn't even spot, even though I knew what I was looking for!) While they perform it on parlor/stage, the effect can easily work informally as well.
