Well, if any of you saw the July issue of MAGIC magazine, you would have seen the rip-out page of the paper that you roll up to look like a wand, and when opened, the wand has the Ten of Clubs printed inside.
I forced the 10 of Clubs and had it returned and genuinely lost in the deck. The deck is ribobon-spread face down. I do this bit where I touch a card with the wand to see if the wand can find the card, and I of course failed. I then handed the wand to my spectator to touch any card they wanted. With the exception of this particular performance, the spectator fails to touch the 10, and I proceed to open the wand to show the printed prediction. However, they touched a card and looked at it. His eyes got huge and he exclaimed something along the lines of "That is not possible!". I told him to turn the card over and it was of course the 10 of Clubs. Needless to say I didn't open the wand to show the prediction because nothing could surpass the miracle that happened. Another time I was at school and had a jumbo 4 of Diamonds in my school planner that I took to lunch with me. I sat down and asked a friend to think of any card. He said the 4 of Diamonds. I pulled out the jumbo card and actually heard his brain snap in half. TJ |

I pulled an invisible deck routine on a co-worker. It just so happened that her selected card was the same card
as my Svengali deck. I managed to switch decks, and whe was flabbergasted. I don't really like to use the gaffed decks anymore, but sometimes you have to grab an opportunity when it comes to you.

I planned on doing the invisible deck to this guy who does coin magic, and we are always trying to show up... He said the two of clubs. When I pulled the cards out the two of clubs was on top and the first to be seen. I hadn't reset from the last time I used it, but thank goodness it was cut where it was. I just kinda looked at the card, just as amazed as he was.
Also here is another one that happened to me: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......66&2

"How'd you do that?" ... "Very carefully." |

Once I was doing the Invisible Deck, and the spectator thought of the Ace of Hearts. I joked around about "Ace or Ate" and that got a laugh. After the trick was done, I switched decks and someone said "can you pull the Ace of hearts out of there"? I turned over the top card and it was the Ace! I took it out cut the deck and heard someone laughing. The eight of hearts was on the bottom.

Rannie-- a similar thing happened to me. A card flew out as I sprung the deck, landed face up, and a lady screamed, "That's what I was thinking of!!!"

The "that's the one I was thinking of" trick can happen a lot more often if you try.
If I'm doing an invisible deck routine, sometimes I'll say something like "Think of any card, not the Queen of Hearts" If they weren't thinking of it, nobody notices anything. If the were, they are amazed. Sometimes, I'll say "think of a card" in a joking manner and guess one of the more common choices, QH, 7S etc. If I get it wrong, it was a joke anyway, and I'll have a line to help that idea. If I get it right, everyone's amazed. David Blaine took advantage of this on one of his TV specials. He did and invisible deck and said "think of any card, not the Ace of Spades" The guy was thinking of the ace of spades. |

I had company one day and decided to try an effect I was practicing on them.
I removed the deck from the box and tossed the box on the table. Giving free choice, I handed the deck to one of the ladies and asked to think of any card in the deck and remove it. She starts looking for the card. "I can't find it!" she says. She names it, everyone looks, and sure enough it's not there. Having removed decks from their box before, and accidently leaving a card, I realized what may have happened. Opening the box I pulled out her card. Actually I had left two cards in the box. Because of this little stunner I will sometimes remove the deck, peek at the bottom or bottom two cards and thumb them into the box. my hope being that someone names one of them. |

Me and my friend were in a bus together and I had the window seat. As usual, I was toying with my cards, doing one haded cuts. Out of sheer boredom, I took a piece of the gum that I was chewing and stuck in on the face of the bottom card which was a nine of diamonds, and cleaned it up a little bit.
Then,I cracked the window open and stuck the card on the other side (easier said than done). Thinking that it would be great if it worked, I turned to my friend, with my back covering the card,I asked him to think of a card. I asked him to name it after a few failed attempts to name it. Yup it was the nine of diamonds. The down side is, my friends are always asking me to do it again everytime we are in a bus. |

Once I asked a gal to think of a card....I said "seven," she said "yes!" then I said..."clubs," and I was right on...I then proceeded to do the Kennedy mind power deck and blew her away....
also, I was once doing the old "dime and penny" routine, and when I made the dime disappear, I took a risk and told her it was in her pocket, and lo and behold, in her jacket was a single dime!!! |

Hi from sweden.
I do a ambitious signed card routine. I did it one night for a girl called robin who signed her name on the four of spades. two weeks later I was doing a trick and asked a boy from a family to choose any card. he picked the four of spades and yes, his name was robin! the family were just blown away and asked me when I secretly wrote his name on the card..... I just shrugged and took the credit...pretty amazing though.. regards, geoff diamond

I approached a table in a restaurant I was working and asked a lady to pick a card and show it to her friends while I turn around. All of a sudden there was a huge gasp from the folks and they started clapping wildly. They started saying how that was the best trick they'd ever seen. At this point, I have no idea what has happened. Well, to make a long story short, the lady who picked the card was named Cathy, and she had picked a card from another trick with the name Cathy written on it. Once I realized what had happened, I did what any self respecting magician would do and took full credit for the miracle they just witnessed! |

A few years ago when I was starting out I wanted to do a gag because my tricks werent working well on my audience. I asked this one girl name any card you want, she said the jack of diamonds, and I said turn over the top card of the deck that you are holding. sure enough, it was the jack of diamonds! she keeps on bugging me how I did it to this day.

The other day I did the chicago opener and the first card pick was the 8 of hearts. well after showing the first change I place the force card which just happened to be the 9 of hearts on the table. the spectator picked up this card and looked at it but they missed that it was the 9 and not the 8. I decided to keep going and forced the 9. Then asked them to flip over the tabled card. They freaked.

Has anyone noticed that ALL of these stories are about cards. Has anyone had any coincidences with anything else?
"Mommy, what's that man doing up there?"
"He's putting on a Blindfold, my dear." "What's a Blindfold, Mommy?" "Something you wear so that you cannot see." "Why's he wearing one, Mommy?" "So that he can tell us what he's looking at." - |
