Puzzle - Rizki Nanda
$6.95 https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=65089 Hype: There are hundreds of sleight-of-hand moves to make a card disappear, but not everyone is capable of performing these crazy moves. This is why Rizki Nanda-the creator of multiple phenomenal magic products JumpInk, Propel and Decode -- has created PUZZLE. PUZZLE gimmicks allow anyone to vanish any card seamlessly like a pro. The best part is, the audience can examine everything. What you will receive in this download: - Clear instructional video of how to use the gimmick by Rizki Nanda himself. - A full routine. How to make the selected card reappear sandwiched in-between the Jokers in the deck. - A template to build your own puzzle card. My Take: Rizki has come up with a pretty clever gimmick. It is easy to make and doesn't take glue, threads, magnets or anything extra. All you need is a pair of scissors. You receive three files in the download. The first is the performance and the explanation, the second is a second version where the selected card is trapped between two jokers and the third is a template to use to cut your cards. Unfortunately, the template you are given is not the size of your average card but about half size. So it is actually useless in building your gimmick. Fortunately, you can use it as a guide to freehand cut the cards which will work just as well. It just seems to me that if you are provided a template it should be a usable one. The trick is not difficult to do but you do have to watch your angles and be careful with your alignment during performance. English is not Rizki's first language but he imparts the instructions adequately. The second version with the jokers is done by another magician whose English is not quite as accomplished. It is difficult to understand him but with the video and the audio together, you can figure out what you need. Where I would disagree with his assessment is that the audience can examine everything. I guess that would be true if you want to palm out the gimmick. Otherwise, you do not end clean. When the deck is ribbon spread face up, the chosen card is revealed in the center of the deck face down. The gimmick is invisible due to a standard move you probably already know. If you don't, it is pretty much self working. Conclusion: It is clever and visual but due to necessary alignments, it will take a while until you are comfortable performing it., Once you are, this wold be good for walk around. You just leave the gimmick in place instead of palming it out.The price of $6.95 is more than fair and you will have fun with it. |
