Peter Eggink seems to be one busy guy these days. seems he's always coming up with something new and exciting.
His latest offering, "Your Card" is a beautiful effect that you should consider for purchase. The effect is as follows: Show a deck of cards all different. The spectator freely selects one, memorizes it, and returns it to the pack. Concentrate on the card, remove one card from the deck, and place it face down on the table. It really would be a miracle if that card turned out to be the spectators card. Turn the tabled card face up. It is NOT the selection. Place this card face up into the face down deck with no moves at all. Ribbon spread the deck. The only face up card in the spread has CHANGED into the spectator's selection! But there's more. Explain that "There is in fact one card in the deck that is your card." Take the selection from the spread and turn it face down. On the back of the card written with a large magic marker are the words "Your Card" An unreal effect with a kicker ending! That is how the description of the effect reads, and it is accurate. Before I go any further in this review, let me say this. This review is written only for the benefit of those who use and employ gaffed decks in their performances. If you are a purist who shuns gaffs, then read no further, as you'll be wasting both of our time. But if you have no problem with gaffs, then you should LOVE this effect. The instructions are a bit difficult to comprehend, but if you work with them, you'll get it. Once you get it down pat, you'll find that the gaffed nature of this deck takes an effect that could conceivably be accomplished by pure sleight of hand methods, and takes all the knuckle busting out of it. I don't know how long Peter took to think this out, but I suppose it was a significant part of his life. Anyway, the gaffed nature of the pack works beautifully to accomplish the effect "smooth as silk." And I mean that. Once you get the incorrect card to appear, the rest is gravy. Totally moveless and very clean looking. It is so easy to do, in fact, that it is a joy to perform. It's almost totally automatic at that point. And as far as getting to the point where the card is revealed incorrectly in the spread, that is pretty simple, too. Peter has an enjoyable way to accomplish it, although I would like to point out that a simple peek/ glimpse would do the job, That is my preference, anyway, and that is what I use exclusively. Then you have the kicker ending of the card having "Your Card" written in large magic marker across the back. This is good too, although I have some definite psychological ideas that I would gladly share with anyone who PMs me, that I think makes the kicker even STRONGER to the audience. The set up on this effect is kind of involved, so I would not recomend it for walk around or restaurant work. Allthough, once you get used to it, the set up is not really all that hard. It's just a matter of practice, and you should be able to reset fairly rapidly. You do need a table or mat, also, by the way. In summary though, I really like this effect. Peter has done a fine job with this, and if you like this type of effect, then you need to go to Hank Lee's and get one while the gettin's good! Kudos to Mr Eggink for his brilliance and dedication to bringing some really fine effcts into the magic community lately. I hope he keeps up the good work, and am anticipating whatever offering he comes up with next! And that's not to mention that he is really a wonderful person to talk to and get to know.

As I said, I know for a fact that Peter works HARD on these effects, and they come by "sweat and blood", so he deserves all the prosperity that comes his way. I think everyone should give his stuff a try. You don't know what you are missing until you do.
Check out some of his other creations. This man is on the way up. someday we will all say "Yeah! Peter Eggink! I knew him when!" I believe he's on his way to the top.
