I wanted to share this H&R Magic Books email announcement...
Well, it's been a little while since the last H & R publication, but I'm happy to announce that Volume 7 of Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations is now back from the printers and ready to be shipped. A lot has happened since our last publication. As most of you know, Marshall Petersen, who took over the retail portion of H & R from Richard and I, has closed the shop. A sad day for all of us. We started in 1990 and I never thought we'd go on anywhere near this long. And along the way we started publishing books, which I'm happy to report I'm still doing and will be for a while longer as I have several more titles still in the pipeline. And I'd have had this volume of Nick Trost's material out sooner but I've had a busy 2 years. As some of you know our family home was flooded in Hurricane Harvey 2 years ago. We decided not to rebuild but instead sold the house as is, and moved on. In the end, probably a good move as some of our neighbors have still not finished rebuilding. It took about a year but we did finally find a place to buy and we're still unpacking (despite having lost a bunch of stuff in the flood!). Long story short, after too long a delay, Nick Trost is back, at least in book form. This latest volume again contains over 100 tricks that rely on subtle moves and principles rather than difficult sleight of hand. Chapters in this volume include ones on Gambling Tricks, Poker Puzzles, Gilbreath Plays Poker, Baffling Revelations, Unique Card Effects, Amazing Coincidences, ESP tricks and more. Steve Beam, after proof reading the book told me that he thought that this might be the best book in the series, but then what does Steve know about card tricks. And Steve Bryant, after reading an early version of the book raved about it in both the April and May issues of his on-line Little Egypt Magic magazine. Hardbound with dust jacket,209 pages. $50, introductory price $40 until September 15. -- Charlie hrmagicbooks.com |
