Hi all I have the original of this from Craig and I believe it was discontinued .
This seems to be essentially the same ( pun intended ) with an added feature on a solo option if you don’t own a receiver . If anyone knows how if it at all it differs from its first release I would be grateful for any info . Best wishes Gaz 🙂 |

Not sure why threads about dice go 20+ pages and this has two posts. I just wanted to put in a good word (not that Promystic needs my praise) for the E-wallet. It does everything it says it does flawlessly. But what I love is that I'm using it as my everyday wallet. Unlike, say, a die, it makes sense to have it on you with a natural motivation to use the cards within. "Do you have a deck of cards? No. Ok we'll just use the cards (license, credit card, business cards, etc...) in my wallet." Not cheap, but no doubt one of the best mentalism items for everyday magic nerds like myself. Also, it's the most unassuming tech-less looking piece of tech you'll ever use.

Only problem I ever felt was that I was getting mixed signals if I had other PM effects with me, again my fault and I know the solutions I just never acted on them. So a couple of months ago I purchased the Essential wallet and I picked the solo version, brilliant bit of kit! I bought the solo version as I wanted to use it as a stand alone without the need of the PMR. This way I have no cross signals and I can just have the wallet in my pocket without the need to carry anything else related to pm. I carry a couple of other mentalism effects in the wallet so it’s a cliche but it really is an act in my pocket. Lots of routines available and in my opinion well worth the money, both wallets are very similar but I do get more use out of the latest one. Hope this helps. Regards Ian.

Thanks Ian I will have to check our how discreet the buzz is so to speak if I see one at Blackpool .
It’s great if you can use other effects from the wallet too so sounds like a good improvement all round . Thanks again for the heads up Gaz 🙂 |

I think the reason for a lack of posts on this is probably because many of us are not really sure how to use this. A demo video would be a big help.
Add to this that there are 3 versions with the least expensive costing $200 and people shy away from it due to uncertainty of what to do with it as well as which version would best suit them. If those things weren’t enough to create confusion in many potential purchasers, you can add to this that the effect appears to be essentially a 1 in 3 chance, of which there are a multitude of other similar effects costing much less. I suppose one could ask what the advantages to this wallet are vs buying a good peek wallet for a lot less money and performing a 1 in a million effect that could potentially have a much greater impact and be much more memorable? I would love to hear more details of how owners of this are using it and what version they prefer. For instance, the Solo version has to be given back to the performer in order to get the read, in actual practice does that lessen the impact of the effect, especially if you want/need to repeat it? |

I have it and love it. But didn‘t like to write more about it here... we had enough exposure recently. Jan

Jan, you make an excellent point. But this further bolsters my opinion which I have stated several times, that the magic Café should be a closed forum. Having areas which are closed is not enough and has simply proven to be ineffective as evidenced by the many exposures you referenced.
Even requesting that topics be moved “downstairs” is rarely acted upon. But there’s also the problem that far fewer members ever look downstairs. I’ve complained about this but it falls on deaf ears and the vast majority of members seem to want to keep things the way they are so it is what it is. |

I have had this and I think for the most part the method is better than the effect imo .
There are far stronger pieces you can do but if it’s a luxury you can afford then why not . There are probably far better ways than the free will effect I was doing with it but I personally found it anti climatic and sold it on . Also added to the fact I didn’t find it was 100% reliable Gaz 🙂 |

I’m doing a version of Andy Nymans Sophie trick with this using a picture of My daughter. I have the version that uses the receiver.
Also I really like taking the picture of my daughter and 3 other cards and putting them in coin envelopes and finding her picture |

To a child, it's probably less impressive than a good card trick. To an intelligent adult who knows a thing or two about forces and sleight of hand this has a heightened sense of impossibility. To hand out an everyday object (wallet), leave the table or room, allow four different spectators to freely pocket a different item from it (and then pocket the wallet itself) and then return to the table and confidently discern who holds which (clearly tech-free) item with 100% precision is pretty *** powerful in my book. What I love is that people don't think it's a trick. They think it could only be a matter of psychology.

It’s not quite as you describe above .
For example you have to designate who is going to pick first , second , third and fourth in stringent order to achieve your effect . That isn’t as powerful but still very good , and it’s as I said a luxury item imo that certainly plays ok . The original had reliability issues as well so that is also why I sold it Gaz 🙂 |

Correct, if you were to leave the room entirely you'd, for instance, ask them to grab an item and then pass the wallet to person next to them. But in fairness, there's no real reason to leave the room. Just have them remove something under the table. Or turn away as they make their choice. Astonishment comes in different forms. For instance when using a NW to predict a three digit number, I always liked being off by one or two numbers. Or for OOTW, I'd use just a small portion of the deck. Not a perfect separation of all 52 cards. I want then to believe what they experienced was real and highly improbable. Not impossible. In this case, with just 4 items, it's a different form of astonishment. The question becomes "how were you able to psychologically discern what I did" as opposed to "what's the trick?" No one right answer for all audiences and perfomers. This just plays into my personality and what I'm trying to achieve.

It was taken care of Bill , Craig took it out of production .
It’s only it the last year or so it’s been released as the “ Essential Wallet Pro “ rather than the E Wallet . Hopefully therefore these wrinkles have now been ironed out Gaz 🙂 |

Yes as I say Platt this a rereleased product because of the previous issues with reliability .
I am sure knowing Craig the new one will work perfectly now Gaz 🙂 |

I have the standard version and like it very much.
Quite surprised there's not more written about this wallet. I do agree that thinking of clever and impactful routines is more taxing. Just a matter of time... and thought...
