I was just wondering if we had any Oyster lover's here at the Café'.
I prefer mine on the "Half Shell" always eating the first one plain, with nothing on it. After the first one I like to put Wassabe & Pickled Ginger on them, going back to a plain one every now and then. I also enjoy them broiled and in an omelet. Iven

Well, I've been tempted a few times, but never plucked up the courage! They'd probably have to be drowning in lemon juice or something before I gave one a try.

They are nasty! Eeeewwww! I just can't bring myself to eat anything that at no point in its life did it ever have eyes.

Simply, half shell, with lemon. Mmm...
I was of a similar disposition to the last two posters, until I ordered them by accident in a restaurant in Paris (slight language misunderstanding). Of course, then it was too late (there was no way I was going to send them back!) so down they went. I've been hooked ever since... |

Never have had them...never want too.
And please tell me you have never eaten Rocky Mountain Oysters! Chris |

Oysters...yum. My fave is on the halfshell with horseradish. The thing with oysters is that you can just gobble them up without ever filling up. Opening them, if not already on the half-shell, is a pain.
Ãœber goodest signature ever.

I have never gone to this festival nor have I ever tried these type of "oysters", though I do look forward to trying them sometime. Each to his own but to go through life with the attitude of not caring to try something new is to miss out on some of the "spice of life". You will never know if you like something unless you are willing to try. The worst thing that could happen is a temporary bad taste in your mouth but the reward could be a lifetime of pleasure. I think the positive far outweighs the negative. Iven

When we are branding/casterating we cut them off, throw them on the branding iron fire, grill 'em up, and hand them out... they go pretty quick... they taste like rattlesnake, which tastes like chicken and some kind of fish, I think... The texture is funky though... that is what takes some getting used to...

I've had them deep fried in batter, I live right next to the bay they harvest them from. Don't know if I could eat them raw though
