This instant download project includes 10 hyper-visual effects done with an ordinary, everyday object. STRAWS! Set up is quick and these effects can be done anywhere. Coffee house, restaurant, on the street. If you have a straw, you are ready to go!
Here are just a couple of the effects: STRAW THROUGH BILL/RECEIPT A straw punctures a borrowed bill or receipt, and is visually pulled right through the very center. The straw is pulled cleanly through without any marks or tears on the receipt/bill. Both objects can be immediately handed out and inspected. TORN AND RESORTED WRAPPER A straw wrapper is torn to reveal the straw inside. With a wave, the magician can heal the torn wrapper and hand the straw out for inspection. It's too bad that (from a magic perspective) a lot of restaurants don't give out straws now...

I am offended that the magic community would even think of supporting tricks that rely on such dangerous, irresponsible, and environmentally damaging products such as plastic straws. Just say'n

This idea arrived too late, now there aren't many places giving straws and even if you carry one people will call you out....but honestly who carries a straw.

I was thinking about purchasing Project Straw. The only time I would perform it is at my weekly restaurant gig on Kids Night. Buffalo Wild Wings have plenty of straws to give out. I have been using straws regularly after Michael Powers taught us a way to do an effect with a straw during his lecture.

I remember someone mentioned on the Café last week that Murphy's is starting to release (relatively) new effects with The Vault now. It's true. Project Straw just released not long ago, and it is now in the The Vault. Interesting. I wonder if they are different (eg. original release vs The Vault release)?

Can this be done with an organic (bamboo) straw or a reusable one

Not really a fan of straw routines but for those who are the audience might not take kindly to plastic ones

You will need to use plastic straws for most of the effects.
