Am told that LYBRARY.COM is set to release an updated version of the Two Card trick that adds "something you have around the house" to make this worth considering.no opinion is given on it here because it is apt to encourage distracting comments...just a heads up if you're at all interested in doing this classic effect...BTW ebay is currently offering vintage fox lake cards for this...

If the "updated" version of the 2 card trick uses special cards, it would be interesting to see how much better it makes it. Like Fish said, the original doesn't use special cards and is great as is. Adding gaffs doesn't always make something better

Isn't there more than one (ostensibly) two card trick? Bert Allerton's did in fact use one gaff. I think magicfish means Brother John's. Are there others? In a way, "Be Honest What Is it" starts out as a two card trick then changes into something else. So be honest, what are we arguing about here? I'm guessing two different tricks at least. I agree that "improving" Brother John's famous effect with gaffs would cause it to "die from improvement" as Al Baker said. Maybe. I'm willing to be proven wrong!

Yes,there must be more than one version.the version to be released soon from lybrary.com is w/2 gaffed cards and has been a staple of magic sets for eons.it used to be framed w/"i'll put one behind my back, leave one out,now they change places."that ploy has been discarded...i think we're talking about different effects...first posted this in the sleight-of-hand section by mistake, was told it didn't belong there because it relies on gaffs.had it moved here, now you say wrong forum, make up your mind...have no interest w/tinkering w/anything of brother john's.met him in 1973 in new orleans.his stuff needs no improvement.you're pulling things out of the air...am sorry I ever mentioned it...

A magnetic "Two Card Monte that uses 3 Cards" can be found in my "Dollar Store Christmas Magic" Also includes a variation that uses 4 cards. All can be made in jumbo card sizes.
