Is this routine written up somewhere? I've had a bit of a look but can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks so much.

Patrick Page's Dutch Looper (3 Card Trick) is part of Spellbinder's "Double Dutch Loopers" collection and "Jumbo Stage Dutch Looper", both found in The Wizards' Journal #17.

Just to clarify an important point here.
The version that Patrick Page used was NOT the 'Dutch Looper' (nor is it the 'Dutch Looper' that's sold on his website). It was termed, by Pat, 'The Kitson Miracle' (Kitson being the name of the Road where he lived); the gimmick itself, albeit similar, works on a different principle. Pat's version, The Kitson Miracle, actually appears to have started life as a trick called 'The MacMillan Miracle'; an idea of Ron MacMillan's; who started International Magic, in London. The 'Dutch Looper' was simply the term introduced by Ken Brooke (in his own words "for no reason") for this trick. This method works similar to the older version that's been around for years as a grafter's pitch item (often referred to as 'The Street Traders' Three Card Trick/Monte) . What Ken appeared to introduce with the Dutch Looper, was a slight repositioning of the fake that enabled you to show an additional index on the gaffed card, as an added convincer. For what it's worth, I've been performing Ken's Dutch Looper version for over 40 years. As a kid, if was the first 'packet trick' that I could make myself, for pennies. Magicians being Magicians, they probably think that everyone knows the secret of this older version; or that it's obvious. If that's the case, ask yourself why (possibly) hundreds of thousands have been sold over the decades. I've no doubt that's why Ron and Pat brought their versions out - to sell to Magicians and make money. At the end of the day, it simply enables you to show the full face of 3 cards......something which, if you know the count used in Edward Victor's superb trick E-Y-E (a partial Elmsley), you can show this anyway, with the old version! I've never seen the point of the improved MacMillan/Page version(s) if I'm completely honest. Unless, of course, I was a magic dealer - whereby I'd be telling you that this is an essential gimmick upgrade that your life depended upon; and to throw your money at me.

Ken Brooke was a true master.
As he related, "if ever I was skint, I could make up a gross of Dutch Looper's on a Friday Night, go down to Soho Market on a Saturday, and sell the bl**dy lot". Given his experience and ability as a grafter, I wouldn't actually doubt that.
