MagicPedia (https://geniimagazine.com/wiki/index.php?title=Straitjacket_Escape) says that Houdini invented the straitjacket escape in 1896, but it's not clear what the source of that claim is. There are a two references for other claims made in the article, but I don't know the source of the 1896 claim.
Conjuring Credits only has a listing for the upside down escape. Does anybody have a source for Houdini inventing the straitjacket escape? Travis |
