Ltrblst wrote above that Si Stebbins, Eight Kings and Karma Deck are not random, especially the suits.
I've been using Si Stebbins and 8k almost my entire performing life and the Karma Deck for about 6-7 years. Let me share a few facts here. 1. Karma Deck is extremely random in terms of both values and suits. Please observe below. All are very random in values and suits. The first few cards of one of the Karma Deck stacks are as follows: 2S, AC, 9H, 5C, 4S, QD, 8D, 7H, 3C, JH, 10D The first few cards of another Karma Deck stack are as follows: JD, 4C, 9H, 2S, 7S, QD, 5H, 10D, 3C, 8C, AH The first few cards of yet another Karma Deck stack are as follows: 4S, 5C, 9H, AC, 2S, QD, 10D, JH, 3C, 7H, 8D, 6S 2. As far as the 8k stack is concerned, inspite of its rotating suits, Chan Canasta and myself (pardon the impudence ) and several others have used this stack with deadly effect. 3. Si Stebbins can be used as a memdeck, yes MEMDECK and the Unknown Mentalist shares a brilliant method to do so - with random suits included. https://www.lybrary.com/13mm-of-si-stebbins-p-809101.html 4. Not only that UM also turns the Si Stebbins +2 stack into a formidable stack weapon. This is very interesting. https://www.lybrary.com/stebbins-surpris......312.html

Dear IMAGINACTION what you are missing here is that those stacks are not random for ME and the application I want to use.
Many great magicians made a career on 8 Kings and Si Stebbins for a reason, but I do a lot of dealing on the face and other applications that require a stack that is MORE random. Righ now, after searching for more than a year, I found QuickerStack 3.0 to be the perfect balance for ME, and I even tweaked it a little bit. For other applications I use the Redford stack, and his many transformations, so I really like the Si Stebbins stack, just not for the purpose of this thread. P.S. The other "Karma deck" incarnations you mention are more difficult to recall/calculate, as opposed to the basic version -- which is not random at all. Ease of use and randomness are two important parameters for me in this thread... look at the title |

I actually prefer the non-random nature of the "Stebbins" stack for many of the built-in effects. If you're interested in learning what's really possible with the "Stebbins" stack, I have good news. As luck would have it, I have decided to make my Super-Charged Stebbins notes available to anyone interested in furthering their understanding of (and aptitude with) this incredible system. They are currently on sale at my new website... https://themystictower.com/shop/ols/prod......stebbins
While purchasers won't receive the benefit of face-to-face instruction and full performances offered during my online class, there is still enough depth to the explanations to ensure vastly improved performances. Brand-new routines, previously unpublished material, and innumerable nuanced techniques. As always, anything you purchase from me comes with my 100% satisfaction guarantee or I'll gladly refund your purchase price. In this case, these notes are so comprehensive, I know you'll be thrilled with what you learn! --Harlan |
