Ron,
I'd appreciate a photo of the sterling silver chain you are using. Or a link to the one you purchased (if you purchased one specifically for the Penrose Pendant). Mark

I purchased it from E-Bay. I purchased th3 1.5mm but 2mm will also work.

Thank you, Ron. I saw that chain design on Amazon. My concern was with the end piece with the loop (for hooking the lobster clasp through). I was concerned that the longer, solid loop, wouldn't slide down into the pendant (the way I need it to slide for the effect to work).
I'd much rather have the 2mm size vs the 1.5mm. If I order from Amazon I can return it if it doesn't work smoothly. Thanks again! Mark

Yes... does that clasp fit through?!?

There would be no need for the clasp to fit through. Just the other end with the loop.
Clearly, the loop on the 1.5mm sterling silver chain fits through, otherwise Ron wouldn't be using that chain. I just wonder if the loop on the 2mm chain would also fit. I plan to order one and give it a try. Mark

Mark is right. The clasp does not go through but the other end does. I think the 2mm will also work. I kind of wish I had gotten that size but the 1.5mm works fine.

I ordered a 2mm sterling silver ball chain from Amazon (with clasp and loop that are similar to the one Ron ordered). It will be delivered tomorrow and I'll report back once I've received it.
It was significantly more expensive than ordering it from eBay, but at least I can easily return it if it doesn't work out. Mark

The "2mm" sterling silver chain was delivered by Amazon this morning. I measured the balls on the chain and they actually measure 1.8mm, making this sterling silver chain the same diameter as the original stainless steel chain that Jeff Prace supplied with my Pendant. The sterling silver chain easily slides down into the Pendant. However...
Because the loop on the end of the sterling silver chain is soldered to the outside of one of the balls, the loop creates a little catch when the Pendant is being REMOVED from the chain. It does not slide off perfectly every time. So, this 2mm sterling silver chain is getting returned to Amazon. The 1.5mm chain that Ron purchased is probably small enough to prevent the backside of the loop from catching. But I think the 2mm (1.8mm) chain looks too dainty as it is, I would not want a smaller chain. I am going to stick with the stainless steel chain. Mark

Some interesting prediction effects would work with this…
Can it be used as a pendulum? |

In the horizontal handling, my preference, it is reminiscent of a planchette. The weight provides just the right "feel," allowing for precise movements. I'm considering using one of each of the three colors to create a very unique Multi-Bob Pendulum, ala Trybil. |
