I've been searching, with no luck, the name of a card trick I learned as a teenager. A selected card with a hole in it is threaded on a ribbon/cord, along with 8 or 10 other cards. The selected card is the only one that can be removed.

Yes, it is a variation of the one on that video. The one I remember only had one hole, at one of the ends.

Could it be a variation of The Locked Deck by Tad Ware and others?
This uses the entire deck and a padlock through the single holes instead of the ribbon. |

I know the locked deck. This works differently. It's more like what's shown in the video that cuchullain provided.

You may want to check out Dan Tong’s “Card on the Ribbon” routine. It is on his second DVD and also described in one of his lecture notes.
I believe it might be the routine you are looking for. |

Seems like a read a very similar version somewhere in Tarbell...I'll go have a look and see what I find and report back!
