J.C. Wagner's version can be done with 6's, 8's, 5's ..
Just need to set up on the fly, a little differently

The original was published in Genii Mag, Feb 1965

The basic effect is that a spec shuffles a deck of cards, the mag removes one prediction from the deck. The spec now choses 3 other cards by certain procedures (counting, cutting, etc). The 3 selected cards are mates and match with the prediction.

Essentially all versions go along the same idea: you make a small set up when you claim you are going to remove the prediction. Then, depending on the version you use, the procedure will vary slightly.

There are other very good versions by L Dancy and Dhorian Rhodell (spelling?)
