Hi all,
I'm thinking of picking up some satin cord to perform ringleader. I wondered what diameter of cord people on MC had used / recommended? Thanks in advance for your advice. BW Steve |

Gregory Wilson uses velvet cord in Ringleader. Do you mean that or satin cord?

Velvet cord probably works best. If you search Ebay, it’s not too hard to find. The width is pretty standard, about 1/4”. If you pull out the center, it becomes more pliable and the moves are easier to perform.

It is easier to purchase this cord from Walmart's fabric department, or any fabric store. They all sell it by the foot.

The reason I mentioned Ebay is that my experience is that fewer and fewer fabric shops keep it in stock.

This is what I use but it seems impossible to find.

This would be about 2.5 mm thinner than the one I use.

The classic Ring 💍 & String is a main staple in my close-up repertoire. Your should be able to find what you are looking for here https://www.amazon.com/s?k=velvet+cord&d......r_p_85_1

Not the same as velvet, but this might be of interest to some...I've used a thin multicolored paracord and it works well for closeup. I bought it at a rappelling shop. It can be worn/woven as a bracelet as an everyday carry item for ring-on-string.

Have used velvet cord, shoe laces and paracord. All work well depending on the moves
