Do anyone have ideas for magic tricks, program items, skits for a children program for children and second for a teens program.
I hope you can give me tips for a powerful and not to much speaking program. I think about: Bartimeus bible story, magic painting picture about this biblestory, thumbtip/silk appearance. Vanishing blind wand, doing magic tricks with a blindfold on. Please! with love from Holland, Harry

Harry,
:applause: Sounds like you have some good ideas already! In Mark 10:50 we read, "So throwing off his cloak, he (Bartimaeus) sprang up and came to Jesus." (NRSV, italics mine) This was a literal blind leap of faith. You asked for program items, in addition to magic tricks. Perhaps you could have a volunteer do a trust fall. I once did this in a program and had the volunteer stand on a piano bench and fall backwards (into my arms) from there. The extra height really heigtened (no pun intended! ) the effect. SAFETY TIPS: If you use a bench (or a table or chair), have the volunteer stand with his/her heels at the edge of the bench. Have the volunteer hold onto the sides of his/her trousers tightly. This will prevent the volunteer from whacking you in the head with a flailing arm! Have the volunteer look at the ceiling and then close his/her eyes! Say, "Lean your head back and keep your back stiff as a board." Hope this helps. I really think you can develop the ideas you already have!

Do a mentalism routine with the blindfold on. I believe Banachek's new DvD's feature something you can use

I really like Osterlind's Stainless Steel blindfold. Nicely made, and very believable. Even with my poor eyes, I can use it...
Great! RevJohn |
