What do you watch when you want to feel excited about magic, rather than learn new stuff? I’m thinking full acts or documentaries—pretty finite amount out there of good quality, and never the same as being there, but feels all the more necessary during times of limited public performance.
For me there’s the Ricky Jay HBO special and the Dai Vernon documentary. I’ve also heard good things about the Tom Mullica DVD, Albert Goshman in London, the Don Alan Magic Ranch set, and so on. Instructional videos with extensive performance like the Tommy Wonder or Bill Malone sets, also work. Hoping to equip myself with more as we near winter! |

I am always inspired by the Tommy Wonder videos. He was a TRUE magician. I also really enjoy watching the Doc Eason bar magic videos. Man, can he work a crowd.
