Does anyone out there currently perform this routine in a restaurant setting, if so what are the reactions like?
I am thinking of adding this to my set but need to know if the preparation is worth it or not, you know what I mean if you know this effect? Thanks Daren |

It is a great effect and always gets a good reaction. For me, the set-up didn't take that long (sit behind your coffee table, put the ballgame on, and go at it...you'll be done by the third inning.)

I agree. The setup is well worth it. The ends justify the means.

I recently got an email from a restaurant magician who uses this trick all the time. It came in very handy one night when a wiseguy spectator told him that he knew how the trick worked (as the magician started the effect). Needless to say, the handling, which will fool anyone who only knows the standard trick, completely bamboozled the wiseguy.
A lot of magicians have bypassed this trick because of the preparation and the pocket requirements, but it is really good to be one step ahead of your spectators, especially when it is so easy to buy the classic tricks. Best M. Close |
