Sorry, I'm not the one who brought it up on this thread.

One day he's a hypnotist, then one day he's a "mentalist," when in reality he is a magician. Just stating a simple fact. Plus mentalism vs. mental magic is much more than a new to magic topic, sorry. |

Quoting Steve Brooks from the original sticky post for this forum:
"This forum is for the review of mentalism related items. ... By reviews we mean quality of the effect, the value of the subject taught, etc. ... Please remember, this area is for reviews exclusively." Seems to me that this thread may be drifting off into an ad hominem discussion of Spidey as mentalist vs. mental magician, rather than any pertinent commentary on the A.B.See deck or routines that come with it. My purpose for reading a thread like this is to decide whether or not to shell out $34.95 for the trick, not to discover what sort of performer others may consider its creator to be. My response to, "So those here are seeing Spidey now as a mentalist?" is simply, "I don't care, because it's not relevant to whether or not A.B.See is a trick that I might want to own."

I understand your "drifting off" concern, but also am aware of so many magicians trying to pass themselves and their latest and greatest releases off as mentalism from a professional mentalist. I believe this also plays a big part in the review and purchase-making decision as being misled, ripped-off, disappointed, and buying something to believed to be mentalism only to find it is magic or mental magic at its best is also an important component to the review and buying decision. Just trying to prevent disappointment.
You might not care but it may be a greater issue to others here than perhaps it may be to just you. |
