By way of quick introduction, I am an ardent amateur in Bangor, Maine. A psychologist by trade, I find that what most appeals to me about the magician's craft is the ability to bend perception so as to evoke emotion. I particularly enjoy seance/mentalism with a touch of the bizarre and am working on a kabbalistic-themed conjuring routine.
It's a privilege to be able to benefit from the untold centuries of collective experience and expertise of the magicians here, and also to see the mutual support and deep concern for magic's history, traditions, and integrity that make it more than simply another hobby or job. And now, I shall retire to the back of the room and learn from my betters. . . |

Welcome to the Magic Café.
I, for one, am an obsessive complusive neurotic with hysterical overtones and a side dish of paranoia. Other than that, I feel just fine. Seriously, welcome and I most especially look for you to post and respond. By the way, define thaumaturge. I cannot even pronounce it. Glenn
